See David Bowie’s Last Pictures

Looking happy and pretty healthy, the rock icon David Bowie took what might be the final pictures of him alive. Wearing a black fedora and a dashing suit the pictures were posted on his 69th birthday on his official website and Instagram account on his birthday, just two days before his death.

Longtime photographer Jimmy King as promotional material to accompany the release of his final album Blackstar.

The images were posted with the caption: ‘Why is this man so happy? Is it because it‘s his 69th birthday or that he has released his 28th studio album today and it’s a corker?’

Tony Visconti, Bowie’s producer described the images as the star’s ‘parting gift’ to the world.

THANK YOU TO OUR FOLLOWERS "Just go with me…" Since we launched this official David Bowie Instagram page back in June 2015, we've seen the number of followers steadily grow. Two days ago on January 7th, we had 97 thousand of you following the page and we thought then how nice it would be if that figure reached 100k for Bowie's birthday. Well, with the birthday post we made on the 8th we gained even more followers than we could have hoped for and now that figure is at 110k. Also that post yesterday has created a new record for the page with over 13k likes. So a big thank you to all of you who have followed the page in the last 7 months and liked our posts, you made that birthday just a little bit more special. #Blackstar #imablackstar #BlackstarAlbum #BowieBirthday
