Gene Simmons Apologizes For Calling Prince’s Death ‘Pathetic’

Gene Simmons publicly called Prince’s death “pathetic,” which got fans in an uproar with his ‘big mouth.’ Now, Simmons is backing tracking tweeting, “I didn’t express myself properly,’ when he commented about Prince’s death.

In an interview with Newsweek, Simmons hailed the late singer as “heads, hands and feet above all the rest of them. I thought he left (Michael) Jackson in the dust. Prince was way beyond that.” He continued with “But how pathetic that he killed himself,” Simmons said. “Don’t kid yourself, that’s what he did. Slowly, I’ll grant you … but that’s what drugs and alcohol is: a slow death.”

Prince died April 21 at age 57.
