Six years ago, Stuart Hausmann and DeAndre Upshaw met at a party in Waco. After Hausmann graduated, he moved to Dallas to be with Upshaw.
“We were fairly certain we were going to get married at some point,” Upshaw said. So four months ago, “I started to hatch a plan.”
The amazing proposal effort involved about 50 people, with 15 pro dancers, friends, family and it was all captured on video.
“There’s only a few times you can have an event where you can force everyone you know to come together,” Upshaw said.
They pulled off the amazing proposal in a parking lot at a Plano middle school. Upshaw got everyone for a last minute rehearsal on Saturday and told Hausmann he was at the gym.
Friends helped choreograph the routine, which included a marching band, ribbon dancing, flag twirling and some classic dance moves.
“I’ve never seen pure joy on a person’s face, and that’s what we saw that day,” Georgiou, the choreographer, said.
No word on a date yet, but I’m sure this couple will come up with something epic.
“I may or may not have a Pinterest board with some ideas,” Upshaw said.
Congrats to the happy couple!
