A man has gone missing after a call for help came into Dallas Police Department called around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The driver was caught in swift, deep water in the 1700 block of Fitzhugh Avenue at Turtle Creek.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene, but were not able to locate the car or the driver. When arriving they described the water to CBS 11 as swift and “unusually high.” The water was coming up to the edge of the bridge over Turtle Creek. The 911 caller said the water was at least over the hood of his vehicle.
The car was described as a white Dodge. No name has been released at this time.
Rescue teams are still on scene searching for the man with rafts and a police helicopter.
Turtle Creek ultimately leads into the Trinity River, which police will extend their search if they cannot locate the car soon.
