Jude Hass, 15, walked the runway for New York Fashion Week, making history as the first male model with Down syndrome to participate in the giant fashion event.
Hass modeled clothing for FTL Moda’s children’s collection on Sept. 10, Fox 4 reported. The Texas teen from Plano told Fox, he was excited to hear the clapping and cheering.
“Makes me proud,” he replied. “I love it.”
Hass works with talent agencies who represent people with disabilities.
“We’re getting more and more people with Down syndrome in the media and in view of the general public, and so it’s raising awareness,” said Rachel Wolverton, Jude’s mom. “It’s amazing. There’s no words for that. It’s just amazing.”
